What are the responsibilities of a Board Member?

Board members are responsible for providing effective leadership that enables staff to develop and implement necessary managerial programs, policies, procedures and plans. Board members ensure the District is staffed appropriately, well maintained, meets all state and federal requirements and is prepared to serve the current and future needs of the community.

Ursula Logan - President - Electoral term - November 2020 - November 2024, a new term begins November 2024 - November 2028
David Shoemaker - Vice President - Electoral term - November 2022 - November 2026
Robert Young - Secretary - Electoral term - November 2022 - November 2026
David Johnson - Treasurer - Electoral term - November 2022 - November 2026
Amanda Standfield - Assistant Secretary - November 2024 - November 2028

Board Member Terms and Eligibility

Elections are held on the uniform election date in November of every even-numbered year for board members. To be eligible to serve as a board member, an individual must be at least 18 years of age, a resident of Texas and either a qualified voter within the District or landowner in the District. Certain individuals-- including relatives, employees and consultants of developers and other board members--are disqualified from serving on the Board.

Each  elected board member will serve a 4 year term . Board members are subject to statues related to nepotism, conflicts of interest, bribery and abuse of office. New board members are required to complete a course of training regarding responsibilities of the District and members of the board under the Open Meetings Act.  2024 - Reorganization of Subcommittees
