Notice to Purchaser

Most districts that provide retail utility or drainage services must prepare a form called the “notice to purchaser.”

This notice states the name of the district, the total amount of bonds authorized by voters, the amount of tax-backed bonds issued, the current tax rate, the current standby fee, and other pertinent information.

If you sell property, it may be your responsibility to provide this information to a prospective buyer when the contract for sale is signed. There is no requirement that the notice be provided both before entering into the contract for sale and at closing.
