Stormwater Management Program
Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) to reduce pollutants in the District's stormwater system and to improve the water quality in the local lakes, creeks and rivers.
The SWMP addresses the following five minimum control measures:
- Public Education, Outreach and Involvement
- Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination
- Construction Site Stormwater Runoff Control
- Post-Construction Stormwater Management in New Development and Redevelopment
- Pollution Prevention and Good Housekeeping for Operations
As part of this program, the District is required to prepare and report annually on its Municipal separate storm sewer systems (MS4s). MS4s consist of a conveyance or system of conveyances, including roads with drainage systems, streets, catch basins, curbs, gutters, ditches, human-made channels or storm drains.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is responsible for oversight of the Stormwater Management Program.
