Individual Recreational IDs (pool tags) must be presented for admission to any pool area. If a resident leaves their Recreational ID at home, entry will not be permitted. Each pool user must have a current Release of Liability Form on file. Please register for or renew your pool tags prior to going to the pool!

Residents needing assistance obtaining a pool tag may do so in person at the Walker House or by completing the Exhibit K form and emailing it to info@blockhousemudtx.gov. Please have a recent water bill and current driver's license with you.

Pool Pass Protocol

Exciting news! Your sports court key and pool key are now the same. If you already have a sports court key, you can access the pools with that same key. If you do not have a sports court key, but an old pool tag, you must follow the link below to access the district Exhibit K form. Please bring the completed Exhibit K form and your most current utility bill to the Walker House to pick up your access card.

• Designation of Babysitter Form – if you have underage children (see age rules below) whose parents will not be present

• Children who have not reached their tenth birthday must be attended at all times by a parent or approved babysitter over the age of 16. The parent or babysitter must be in the water within an arm's reach of a non-swimming child.

• Children between the ages of ten and 13 must pass a swim test before they may attend the pool without a parent or approved babysitter over the age of 16.

• Parents must provide written authorization by completing a Designation of Babysitter Form naming a specific approved babysitter to attend their children under 13 years of age while at the pool. A written authorization will not be required for children between the ages of ten and 13 who have passed a swim test as described above.

• A non-resident babysitter must pay a guest fee and present a current form of identification and an executed Release of Liability Form. If the babysitter is under the age of 18, the Release of Liability must be signed by their parent or legal guardian.

• Parents are responsible for their children. Lifeguards are responsible for safety and emergency response.

• Only children three years of age or younger or who are disabled will be permitted to accompany a parent of the opposite sex into the dressing rooms.

Guests must be accompanied by a registered Recreational ID holder. Each household may have up to five guests per day. Guests will be required to execute a Release of Liability Form. If the guest is under the age of 18, the Release of Liability must be signed by their parent or legal guardian. Guests must register at the time of admission to the pool and pay an admission fee of $1.00 at the time of admission.

Any resident holding a current Recreational ID may make reservations to use the pool for a private party for a maximum of 50 guests at times the pool is not open for regular recreational use, subject to the availability of lifeguards through the District's pool management contractor (the "Pool Contractor"). Private parties may be scheduled between 8PM and 10PM, and all participants must depart the facility by 10PM. Any guests that do not have a current Recreational ID must execute a Release of Liability Form. If a guest is under the age of 18, the Release of Liability must be signed by their parent or legal guardian.

The host of any private party must contract with and pay the applicable fees to the Pool Contractor. Reservations must be coordinated with the Pool Contractor at least 14 days in advance, and will be subject to availability of lifeguards and other scheduled events. A $100 facilities and clean-up deposit is required. Reservations are only confirmed upon receipt of full payment. Alcoholic beverages or controlled substances are not permitted at any time. A violation of this policy during a private party may result in permanent suspension of pool privileges. The District's rules will be enforced during all private parties, and violation of the rules may result in immediate cancellation of the party and closing of the pool, without refund of any fees paid.

• No diving.
• No hanging on ropes.
• No running, jumping, skipping, or any movement other than ordinary walking.
• No bicycles, skateboards, skates, scooters or motorized cycles within the pool area.
• No pets.
• No smoking.
• No alcoholic beverages, glass containers, controlled substances or illegal drugs.
• No cutoffs or street clothes.
• No snorkels or face masks. Plastic swim goggles may be used.
• No "somersaults", "back dives", "preacher seats", "can openers" or similar type entries from the edge of the pool.
• Swimmers in the water have the right-of-way. Patrons entering the water from the deck or water slide must make certain no one is in front of them.
• No person except for the lifeguard is permitted on the lifeguard stand.
• No person may talk to, shout at, or in any manner distract a lifeguard on the lifeguard stand, except in the case of an emergency.
• No rough play, pushing, dunking, splash fights or similar behavior. Such behavior will be dealt with on an individual basis, but could result in permanent exclusion from the use of the pool.
• Floating devices may be allowed in the pool during adult swim at the lifeguards' discretion. Water wings and small floats for non-swimming children are allowed at all times. See Paragraph B above regarding Adult Supervision Policy.
• Only small floating toys and balls approved by the Pool Manager will be allowed in the pool.
• Soft drinks and food items may be consumed only in the grassy areas of the pool enclosure. Trash must be removed.
• No cocoa butter, baby oil or heavy suntan oils.
• No chewing gum while swimming.
• No swimming with an open sore or communicable disease.
• One long whistle blast by a lifeguard requires all pool patrons to immediately leave the pool.

Conduct by any person deemed to be dangerous, unreasonable, threatening, or offensive to patrons or employees is grounds for imposing a time out or removal from the pool by the lifeguards. Any individual receiving time out or removal from the pool repeatedly or for serious infractions will lose all pool privileges for the remainder of the season and will be barred from special events.

• All pool rules apply to the baby pool.
• Swimsuits are required. Swim diapers are required for children who are not toilet-trained.
• Only pre-school children five years of age or younger may use the baby pool. See Paragraph B above regarding Adult Supervision Policy.
